Lina Battestilli is a Full Professor (teaching track) in Computer Science at North Carolina State University (NC State) and has been in this role since 2012. Her current research interests are in the innovation of Computer Science Education, effective ways of teaching Computer Science to non-majors, and increasing the diversity of Computer Science students. From 2005 to 2012 she worked in industry, most notably at IBM Research where she worked on next-generation computer networking projects. She received her PhD in Computer Science and MS in Networking from NC State. She has a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from Kettering University. She teaches Intro to programming courses, Networking Electives, and the undergraduate Capstone course. She is the faculty adviser for the NC State’s ACM-W chapter student group. She has been on the organizing committee of SIGCSE TS 2018-2024.
