Khushi Khurana is a freshman at Moorestown High School with a passion for science, technology, and giving back to her community. She has successfully organized and led three programming camps, reaching over 50 children from underrepresented and underserved communities in South Jersey. Her goal has been to ignite a passion for computer science education and provide students with opportunities to explore the field of technology. Khushi also volunteers at HindiUSA, with her local Hindi school chapter in Cherry Hill, where she helps teach Indian-American children about their heritage, language, and culture. Her passion for scientific research has led her to present projects related to microbiology and behavioral science for the last three years, earning her first place and other prestigious awards at the Coriell and Delaware Valley Science Fairs. A portion of Khushi’s research included studying how to increase girls’ participation and interest in the technology, and she delivered a lightning talk on her research at one of the most globally reputed computer science conferences, SIGCSE Technical Symposium 2025 in Pittsburg. Beyond scientific research and giving back to her community, Khushi enjoys playing the piano, and has won the Crescendo International Music Competition for three consecutive years, performing at the prestigious Carnegie Hall in New York City. As a dedicated coxswain on her local rowing team, she led her team to compete at the 2024 Youth Nationals and the world-renowned Head of the Charles Regatta in Cambridge, MA. In her free time, Khushi enjoys spending quality time with friends and family. Khushi is passionate about advocating for young girls in technology and envisions a future where she combines her love for scientific innovation and technology with her continued involvement as a coxswain at the collegiate level.
